Custom Footer Background

I just installed my first Zen Cart shopping cart....wow...kudos to the guys broke away from osCommerce to build this! : )

Anywho, I'm having issues with figuring out how to customize the background of my footer area. I'd like to be able to put a solid color or background behind the footer ONLY. My issue is that from the default installation, it seems as the the footer is actually transparent and only showing the txt because the white color behind the text is actually from my wrapper background color :X Any insight on this would be awesome! I'll probably never live long enough to read all 100+ pages on this subject and the search results didn't give me the solution I was looking for. Thanks in advance! : )

*On a side note: I'd rather have a direct solution as far as point me to which specific file(s) I need to use to pull this off because I'd rather NOT install any addons. From my experiences...the people designing these things create more problems upon installing than is necessary that by the time you take the time to install their patches and plug-ins and mods and updates , you've already wasted a rediculous amount of time because they were not adequate enough to get it right the first time around.

Edit and locate this file:

includes/ templates/ your_template/ css/ stylesheet.css

Find this:
#navSuppWrapper {
color:#FFFFFF;
font-weight:bold;
}

1. just add this declaration: background-color: #ff000;
2. you can change the color code I used for your own site...

But by reading you will find the tools on how to edit your web site easily and productive..

1. Download and install FireFox (if you don't have it already)
2. Install Firebug (an add on for FireFox)
3. Go to your site in FireFox, under Tools, start Firebug and Viola!
you can play with your css to your hearts content. In Firebug, you can select your css, then select the element you want to change, and edit. Changes will be shown in real time without actually modifing the css, so you can see if your changes give you the desired effect. Once satisfied, go to your real stylesheet and comit the changes.

Even I can do a little bit of this, so that means most anyone can as well.
