    Default Suddenly getting Security Hash Problem AND Communications Error

    I've searched the forums and have found older posts but nothing recent. My site suddenly & out of the blue started having "Security Hash Problem AND Communications Error". Everything was fine until a couple of days ago. I have an MD5 Hash that has been installed for about 6 months with no problems whatsoever.

    What would cause this to pop up and how do I fix it if I don't know what is broken.

    The site is: http://www.earphoneguy.com

    Thanks!

    When something "suddenly" changes, or "was fine until a couple days ago", it's always a result of someone changing something.
    That "someone" could be any of:
    - you making admin changes
    - you changing files on the server
    - a hacker making admin changes
    - a hacker changing files on the server
    - your hosting company changing server configurations or firewall settings
    - etc.

    So ... what's changed?

    Also, inside your authorize.net module is a "Debug" option. Turn it on and try another transaction. What shows up in the debug logs? Post it here.

    DrByte,

    Thanks for the reply! I have had Judy (my ZEN guru!) looking at everything she can and nothing (we can see) has changed.

    I am not sure how to get at the Debug log. Judy changed me from Anet AIM to SIM and it works. SHe ran a curl and here are those results, if that helps:

    28 Connection time-out

    Array
    (
    [url] => "https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll"
    [content_type] =>
    [http_code] => 0
    [header_size] => 0
    [request_size] => 0
    [filetime] => -1
    [ssl_verify_result] => 0
    [redirect_count] => 0
    [total_time] => 0
    [namelookup_time] => 28.121609
    [connect_time] => 0
    [pretransfer_time] => 0
    [size_upload] => 0
    [size_download] => 0
    [speed_download] => 0
    [speed_upload] => 0
    [download_content_length] => -1
    [upload_content_length] => -1
    [starttransfer_time] => 0
    [redirect_time] => 0
    )

    I am up and running, just a bit concerned that SIM is secure enough for me.

    My SSL provider, GoDaddy renewed my SSL certificate, would that have any impact?

    Thanks again for the reply!

    Your hosting company has a problem. Evidently you cannot use CURL on your server for connecting to external resources. Thus you cannot use CURL for processing payments securely while the customer is on your site.
    Only your hosting company can fix the CURL problem.

    Does SIM not use CURL?

    Ok, I just contacted HostGator, he said CURL was off, but he enabled it. Still getting the same error message. Any suggestions?

    What happens now when you run the CURL test script?
    You need to report those details to your hosting company.
