Unable To Add New Categories

I recently did a switch for a client on their domain names:

Original: myoldsite.com
New: mynewsite.com

Everything appears okay - emails are working, orders are coming through, I can add and remove products and even amend category names.

The one thing I cannot do is add a new category. I am doing the following (just in case there's something obvious):

1) Login to admin panel
2) Navigate to Catalog > Categories / Products
3) Click the New Category button
4) Add details in the Category Name field
5) Select 'Main Directory' from 'Upload to directory'
6) Add relevant sort order number
7) Click the Save button

The screen then goes back to the main admin panel and no category is created.

I'm using Zen Cart v1.3.8a

This is a symptom of an incorrectly installed secure file ...

Check the installation of the security patches and in particular check the file:
/admin/includes/functions/html_output.php

There are two html_output.php files, 1 for the Catalog and 1 for the Admin and they are different ...

I have the following files:

/admin/includes/functions/html_output.php
/includes/functions/html_output.php

Both look okay and are setup as 644 and are 13kb (admin) and 19kb (catalog).

Every "looks" okay but cannot get new categories on.

Could you test something else such as updating a manufacturer and see if the same thing happens?

Interesting as have never used "Manufacturer".

It looked like it was letting me add one then same as the Categories it put me back to the admin panel when I clicked Save.

You need to really check that html_output.php on the admin as it is different than the one on the Catalog ...

Check the security updates again and compare the file in the security update and the one on the server in the:
/admin/includes/functions/html_output.php
