Trouble Setting Up A Demo Store To Test

Further to a thread i started in the beta forum i am looking for a little help in preparing for the upgrade from 1.38a to 1.39.

What i want to do is to create a backup of my live store files and folders.

On my server put the backed up files and folders into a demo folder / store (with a newly created test database) so i can upgrade the files to 1.39 without damaging the live store.

All files are uploaded to demo folder but when i try and view the demo store at: www.mysite.co.uk/demo i get page not found.

I am sure i am doing something wrong in the configure files but can't work out what it is.

Can anyone shed any light on what i need to change in the configures files to point the store to the demo path.

3 Reasons moving the site not to function properly after moving it.

1. Corrupted file due to ftp software.
2. Misconfiguration the configure files (admin and store front). You need to do all the necessary changes in these files. There is a wiki on how to do that.
3. You have SEO mod installed which require editing the htaccess to reference the new location.
