USPS Shipping Module Not Working

Hello All:

Currently using:

Zen Cart 1.3.8a
No addons installed
PHP Version 5.2.12
Minimal customization
Latest USPS upgrade implemented

I've requested and received a user ID from the USPS Internet Customer Care Center. I've installed the USPS shipping module and configured it. When trying to use the USPS shipping calculator, I get the following message:

United States Postal Service
We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance.
(Please check that your Zip Code is entered correctly.)

The zip codes appear to be correct but I'm not sure from where the module is trying to retrieve them.

Anyone else having or had this problem?

I would recommend upgrading to v1.3.9a ...

But, if that is not an option, you could install the January 4, 2010 USPS update at:

Be sure to read the whole thread ...

You probably need all the Security Patches and Updates (note: these are also in v1.3.9a) at:

And you probably need all of the Known Bug Fixes for v1.3.8 (also in the v1.3.9a) at:

NOTE: if you are sure that you have the current USPS shipping module, be sure that you email or call USPS to activate your account for the Production Server ...

Thanks for the reply, Linda. Turns out USPS had not changed me to their production server. Without changing anything on my part, the USPS shipping module works fine.

For other cart owners: Ensure you have a valid user ID AND you are accessing the USPS production server.

Not a problem ... thanks for the update that this issue was with USPS and activating your account for the Production Server ...
