Default Sending e-mail to 250 users times out?? WHY??

    Hi all,

I am extremely surprised that the e-mail system errors out on our site for only 250 users and was wondering if there is anything I can do about it? I am trying to use the "Send E-mail" feature to a list of users whom created accounts but never ordered and there are about 255 of them. Why is this timing out and that small of a list?

    Thanks,
    -Jack

    ZC version? Server/php etc version?

What is the exact error message?

How many emails per hour does your host allow you to send?

It's almost certainly your host throttling outgoing emails. Most do.

Pay for a better hosting package. I'd hazard a guess you're on a very cheap and cheerful package.

In many cases, you can contact your host and explain the situation, and they will lift the limit when they're confident you're not a spammer.

I don't think this sort of throttling has anything to do with the quality of your host. Most, cheap or expensive, do it to help prevent spamming.
