Upgrade to 1.3.9A

I am following the instructions, but curious what this means?

"Step 7: Now load the "new" version files to your new temp directory (from latest downloaded ZIP)"

I thought this was referring to just moving "zc_install" folder to the new "demo" site and run it.

I completed all the steps, but only moved the zc_install folder.

Now may version is this.

Zen Cart 1.3.8p3
Patch: 1::
Database Patch Level: 1.3.9a
v1.3.9a [2010-04-21 11:14:28] (Version Update 1.3.8->1.3.9a)
v1.3.8 [2010-03-20 05:13:43] (Fresh Installation)

Is this right?

For fun I just dragged the "1.3.9" folders into my demo site that had the upgraded 1.3.9 database and everything looks okay.

Everything looks right except the product url since I am using ceon uri mapping.

I am pretty sure this is the wrong method of upgrading though lol.

Can someone confirm this method is completely wrong?

Yes, that's the WRONG way to upgrade.

The proper upgrade instructions are in the FAQ article you posted already. I recommend you follow the links in that article to the more detailed instructions which will give you a much better understanding of the upgrade process.

After replacing all the zen files my zen cart shows up as

1.3.9A now.

Going to follow the correct method after ceon is supported with 1.3.9A
