When you say the emails "arrive unformatted", what exactly do you mean? Do they contain graphics and colors but have layout problems? Or are the emails actually just text-only messages?
Zen Cart only sends HTML messages if you have HTML enabled and the customer has selected HTML as their email format preference. Otherwise it sends the text-only version.
