Default Guest Shopping Cart - Help!

    Hello Zen Community,

    http://www.primevapor.com/index.php

I've been a long time reader on these forums, they've helped me solve a plethora of issues so thanks to all who help contribute. However, despite my searching, I've been unable to solve the need of obtaining a shopping cart for guest users without an account.

I've read through the COWOA mod but its no longer online for download. I realize that Zen Carts default features do not support this type of guest browsing feature, yet I've seen sites with Zen Cart software with guest shopping carts.

Does anyone know how to generate a guest shopping cart feature for zen cart? Thanks for your time!

Have you looked at the COWOA feature of the Fast and Easy Checkout mod? (Get the latest version at Numinix's website.)

Agree... possibly a better option as the COWOA I pointed to you is no longer supported by it author.

Numinix is a creator of robust and reliable ZC modules.

Thank you to all who took the time to reply. Thanks for the COWOA link! I've been looking everywhere for it, perhaps CraftZombie for one of the other COWOA supporters should post that link with the main support thread for the module.

As far as using one of the programs from numix, I tried their fast and easy checkout mod....Had some technical issues....got frustrated, tried to uninstall it through the 'install SQL patches' through the admin browser and now I cannot update any further SQL lines in relation to the install/uninstall of the Numix module.

From what I gather on the forums, others have had these similar issues and solutions are far from uniform. So, at this point, all Numix solutions are out until either zen cart or Numix can produce solutions to address the errors generated from the use of their SQL patch scripts.

Making breakfast and then I'll give the COWOA mod another try, will report back the results once completed.

From what I've been able to gather, COWOAs readme says nothing about a guest shopping cart. Its about checkout without an account, and I only need guest users to have access to the shopping cart. We'd like buyers to create an account.

Does anyone know how to reverse the SQL errors from the Numix's install/uninstall scripts that they provided with their module?

Otherwise, I'm faced to accept a full reinstall of all components, mods, files, etc. just to allow the possibility of success with a program that's built for a single template when mine and many others consists of two that use files from one another. That's a lot of time to invest as there are many tasks to complete and prioritization is a key factor.

I've seen many Zen sites that have this guest shopping cart feature, so what am I missing? I wish I could provide a few links of the ones that do, but I can't seem to locate them in my history, I'll bookmark and post it the next time I stumble onto it.

Now I'm confused. A stock Zencart installation allows guests to view their shopping cart, but takes them to the Create account page when they click Checkout. Do you mean you want guests to be able to save their carts?

    There's this:

    I haven't tried it.

That's what I thought initially. Perhaps you can verify these results for me....

heres an example of one of our product pages....

    http://www.primevapor.com/index.php?...products_id=11

Now, click add to cart, it asks you to log in...

I saw the cookie cart earlier as well, it seemed to have no effect.

Perhaps there's a poorly labeled option in Zen Cart admin?

    Thanks again for your help.

Update: I was able to modify the header to display the shopping cart right after the "Home" button. There was a StoreSession tag that seemed to act as the boundary between what needed a secure cookie for posting and what didn't. So I just bumped it up a few lines retaining the <li> tags as it copy and paste point.

So now the issue lies with actually allowing guests to add to cart.

Currently, when they try to do so, there is a prompt to login. The curious thing about the error, is that it prompts as if you had entered in an incorrect e-mail/password. It almost makes me think my add to cart button is triggering a login from the header fields on accident.

I open to any further suggestions as the issue still remains until the add to cart feature for guests can be initialized.

    Final Update:

Solved issue entirely by removing the header login fields.

For some reason, the blank login fields at the top were triggering when the add to cart button was pressed...as a result...it made it appear to error in the aforementioned way.

So, to all the Zenners out there, if you have issues...delete erroneous fields!

Thanks again to all who helped.
