Restrict Products based on Country

Hi!

I need to restrict some products on the same product category based on some countries. That is, customers in countries A, B and C are not allowed to buy the products in the category. However, the same customers are allowed to buy products in another category. Is there a way to achieve this in Zencart?

Any advise is appreciated.

I'm looking to restrict an entire category to 3 countries. I'm using zencart 1.3.8a.

Do customers have to log in before they can add to the shopping cart or can they add to the cart as a guest?

Basically I am trying to determine if the test for what is in the cart and the country can be done "before" the product is added to the cart or has to be checked after the customer logs in ...

actually customers can add to cart even though they haven't log in yet, they can add to cart as guests. so that check has to be done when the customer logs in or creates an account.

How do you want this handled?

Do you just want a warning on the shopping cart or an attempt to checkout?

Do you want the Products, once the customer logs in, to not be allowed to be added to the cart if you are one of the 3 countries? Or is the 3 country restriction meaning only people from these countries can buy ... so are the 3 countries NOT allowed to buy these products? or are the 3 countries the ONLY countries that can buy these products?

And the big question is ...

Are the restrictions based on:

Customer Address?

Billing Address?

Shipping Address?
