forms validation recommendations for contact us??

Can anyone recommend any good tools, addons, or methods to improve forms validations within Zen Cart??

I don't mean adding a captcha, that's easy...I mean improving or adding actual code to do things like preventing html code or filtering certain words, etc.

I'm particularly interested in fixing the contact us page.

As has been said in other threads, and your objections noted, you can use the FormArmor service to handle all that automatically for you.

If you insist that it's not worth paying for and you don't like the almost-100%-blockage-of-spam performance you get from it, you can certainly feel free to write your own. The FormArmor plugin already has all the information you need to create the hooks. Be sure to retain the copyrights listed.

Be sure to share your finished product with the community. (For free, right? since the whole reason you're doing this is because you want something for free, right?)

AND be sure that you commit to maintaining all possible filtering rules on an ongoing basis, as spam trends change daily. Even hourly.
