Default upgrading locally - what php version should I use?

I would like to do an upgrade (or fresh install) locally on my PC.With Uniform Server (which I always use)I have a choice of which PHP versions to use.Should I use a 5.2.9 php version (which my host uses now) or a 5.3.0 php version (which, no doubt, will be the next upgrade for the host and is fully compatible with zen 1.3.9)?
If I went ahead and worked on my site locally, using php 5.3.0, will I come up against any problems uploading it to the Hosts server that still currently uses 5.2.9?

Thanks kobra. At least I know with 1.3.9 there won't be any dramas when they do upgrade. Cheers.
