Landing Page after Registration

Sorry if this is the wrong section, but I have searched and can not find the answer anywhere.

I would like to create a welcome page where customers are directed once they have finished their registration.

When a new account is created you are taken to the:
create_account_success

can't you just customize the already existing landing page?
