Zencart v1.3.9a vs v1.3.8a Add On's

I just finished running up a v1.3.8a Zencart with all the patches in preparation for the addon's I want to use. No sooner than this is done I find that v1.3.9a has been released - this is a good thing I know.

I can see that some addons have already been upgraded to suit v1.3.9a, but when it comes to Zencart 1.3.8a addon's, what compatibility issues am I likely to expect ie what is likely to cause the incompatibilities?

I'm asking the question because:

1. I rather use v1.3.9a if I'm not going to have compatibility issues
2. I'm using a purchased v1.3.8a template
3. ...and I guess others would like to know

I'm not on a deadline to publish the website, but sooner rather that later is always better.

I just upgraded a 1.3.8a install to 1.3.9a with only one single (self inflicted) glitch. It basically was a breeze. We launched the site yesterday (see first link in my signature).

My advice: go ahead and upgrade, you won't regret it (as long as your template is ZC compatible ... )

aye.. sorry about the length of the thread... but i update the list as i go along and try to have a bit of craic with other posters and i try to annoy divavocals as my way of flirting.. haha
