I am fairly new to zen and I am wondering how I can change the symbol that is is front of the product. Right now it is the default that looks like l_
and that is driving me crazy. HELP!

If you peek in the Configuration ... Layout Settings ... you will see that and other customizations that you can make ...

Categories Separator between the Category Name and Sub Categories
What separator do you want between the Category name and Sub Category Name?
Default = |_
