upgrading for dummies?

Using Winmerge will show you the differences between the 2 sets of folders - and if you go into the folders it will also tell you if the actual files are different. That is how you will merge your customizations into your new zen store.

Once you have your new files ready - upload them to your server in your new folder and navigate to www.yoururl.com/NEWSTORE/zc_install and the installer will give you the option to upgrade your database (or not if there is a problem it will tell you why)... then you want to go into the admin and the store side of the new store and make sure everything is as expected and once you are sure THAT is when you will make your new store live.

i checked almost all the files i coule and added what i knew i needewd to add (the obvious) most customizations are under my template so i made sure to add my template to every place i need to..

so I THINK im ok.. (if anything is missing.. i can go back to the old files and insert them)

okay so IM READY TO UPLOAD... so correct me if im wrong

i open up on my cpanel and go to my files... and on there MAKE THE new store file AND upload the new zen cart files .. right?

will this OVERwRITE my old public_html (im hoping it will because its the one thats corrupt.. OR should i DELETE public_html?
