picture on main page

I have tried alot of the ideas in other threads on how to add a picture on the main page right under the WELCOME, but I am unsuccessful. I have a picture on my main hard drive that I want to put in under a text on the main page, but am having a problem doing it. Can anyone please help?????????

Have you tried admin/tools/define page editor/define main page?

Under admin/my store, set your html editor to htmlarea. In htmlarea, you'll find a menu button for insert/modify image.

FTP the image you want to use to your server, and then spell out the path to the file, ie:http//www.mysite.com/images/mymainpageimage.jpg

Kind of hitting the highlites here, don't know how specific you need it to be.

I do have a path in Tools, define main page and I got a empty box to put a picture in. I think that my problem is, is the pictrue that I am trying to use Adobe Illistrator picture. I am working on it now. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
