Custom requests and options

Is it possible for me to put a form input such as a text field where a customer can type in their own custom requests for a product. That is to say, if I have a sticker im trying to sell with a picture on it, and I want them to be able to tell me what they want it to say beneath it, can there be a field for them to type that in when they order the product?

Go to catalog -> option names
Add a new Option name of type "Text"
Add that new field to your product.

Be sure to check via phpMyAdmin that the table:
products_options_values

has a record for the
products_options_values_id 0
language_id 1
products_options_values_name TEXT
products_options_values_sort_order 0

If that is missing, you can add it with:

INSERT INTO products_options_values (products_options_values_id, language_id, products_options_values_name) VALUES (0, 1, 'TEXT');
