Attribute keeps defaulting to Price...!

Hi,
Im running:
Zen Cart 1.3.7
Patch: 1::
Database Patch Level: 1.3.7

I went into to change the prices on a couple of products this morning. One product is available with an upgrade so I thought I would set an attribute for it, showing the increased price, thinking I would get a drop-down menu for that to show.
I noticed just as I was hitting okay when trying to set an attribute that the program defaulted to $2.00. too late! The price for the base product changed to $2.00. I have deleted that product a couple of times and re-created it with a new name each time, thinking that I would break the association between the original file and this file. Even with a revised description and a new name, I keep getting the base product to show as costing $2.00. Before I had deleted and created the new product files, I had tried at least a dozen times to change the price in the product set-up module. I'm stymied... I've cleared my cache and performed the changes in my admin under both IE8 and Chrome.

Any ideas?

I need to follow up on my first post. After posting, I went back in and created a new category and then a new product under that. Again, I get the default price of $2.00. So, all products that I add now will be priced at $2.00, no matter what price I put in.

Does anyone know how to reset so that the 2 bucks goes away and the actual price shows up? I can't imagine that this hasn't come up before. I've searched through the forum and don't see an answer, but I may not be stating the problem well enough.

You might also want to begin planning to upgrade your store to the much more secure version 1.3.9b.

Here is the link to show what I'm talking about. I hadn't provided it earlier because I wasn't adding the product to the store. I went ahead and added it so you can see what I'm talking about. May not be a problem with attributes at all but with product listing. I'm thinking I would need to go into my backed up files and upload the file that governs the price function, but don't know what file that is.

Thanks for any guidance you can give...! I'm dead in the water until I can resolve this because I am unable to add products.

It's not attributes. Product 14 in category 7 has a price of $2.00.

Is that the only one that's wrong? It's hard to check here as your site loads e x t r e m e l y slowly.

I'd try deleting that product, creating it again in a different category, then, if it's OK, moving it to the current category.

Thanks for taking a look. I have tried exactly that, thinking that would do the trick. When I saw that it still loaded as $2.00, I figure that it must have something to do with the module that deals with prices. Any product that I load now will show $2.00.

You say that my site loads extremely slowly? Hmmm... don't know what would cause that. It's not that heavily loaded with graphics or anything. Any ideas?

Okay...
Here's what I did. I went into my phpmyadmin, found the product_prices field, found the product that keeps coming up as $2 and changed that to the correct price. I saved it and exited the phpmyadmin and that took care of it! Beats me why I was gettting $2 in there...

I've been adding additional products without any further problems.
