Canceling Gift Cards?

We created several gift cards and emailed them, but they are no longer needed. Is there a way to cancel a Gift Card so the customer can't use them anymore?

Are you meaning Gift Certificates or Discount Coupons ...

Gift Certificates are considered cash ...

Discount Coupons are a redemption code used during checkout to off a Discount of a specific amount or percentage or free shipping on the order ...

If you have Gift Certificates that you sent out (cash) and want to cancel these, that is like passing out $50.00 bills then saying next week, "I want back that $50.00 I gave you" ...

If you have Discount Coupons to cancel you can just go to the Gift Certificate/Coupons ... Coupon Admin ... and click on the Discount Coupon to cancel and click delete ...

NOTE: the Discount Coupon is never really "deleted or removed" from the database table it is marked that it is no longer valid ...
