Default Newbie - crating new product image folders

I have been advised, elsewhere in the forum. that product images are stored in the /images/ folder., but that new image folders for new product groups must be created by FTP not via 'admin'.

This means the 'shopkeeper' (for want of a better word) can add new product groups and new products in those groups, and can upload images for them - but it takes a specialist 'IT person' to use FTP to organise the images.

I barely trust our 'shopkeeper' with 'admin' as it is. It would be very easy for him to mess up the general settings. I understand there is a third party addon for restricting access to menus via log-in permissions (ewhich I have yet to investigate)

This seems like an opportunity for a 'wouldnt it be nice if...' comment

FTP is a basic function that can be easily learned and applied. Train your "monkey" to use it and you should have no probs. You can also (via your CPanel) create a FTP account that will enable access only to the images folder.

Getting him to use a PC will be a miracle, he doesnt have one at home, and wont use a mobile pohone either.

Whatever I offer him has to be 'extremely' simple

The shopkeeper must be able to get to the ZC admin to add products, process orders, etc. If he can do that, he can use FTP (he doesn't have to be the one to install it).
