Sub categories

How do I make sub categories.

for example say I have a category named PHPBB themes I then want other categories under that to be listed for varius versions of PHPBB so

PHPBB themes
V3.5 Themes
V3.6 Themes

ect ect

Categories/Products : Create New Category : PHPBB Themes.

Once it creates, click that "folder" to go inside it and Create New Category (for each of your sub cats).

Remember A Category can contain a Sub Category OR Products - it should NOT contain both as it messes up your cart ;)

TinaS is right...

If you cannot create a sub-category, it's because you already have products in the category.

You will need to clear the products out of that category first - either by deleting them, or temporarily moving them to another category.

When a category is completely empty of products, you will see a button to create a sub-category. This button will not show if products exist in the category.

Yes thanks all I went strait back to the admin after posting here and figured out you can only make subcats if the main cat is empty. Why they do it like that I will never know its not like that on any other cart software.

Silly question...

The STRUCTURE of the database does not permit products AND categories existing at the same level.

This is true of MOST other eCommerce systems.
