    Default Multiple quantity boxes

    Hi,

    I'm new here and new to zen cart, I've been using oscommerce for years and thought I'd try something new. I'm very impressed with zen cart, it has so many extra features that oscommerce doesn't have(well not without using a few dozen contributions).

    Anyway onto my question, I hope this is the right place for it, I've setup a website for a friend using oscommerce but I'll be moving it over to zen cart instead now as it is so much easier and has all the extra functions she requires apart from one(which is what I'm posting about).

    Is there a contribution that will modify the product listing so that each attribute has it's own quantity box but also a drop down box?

    Basically like this;

    Bakery Scents [Drop down box] [Qty box]
    Floral Scents [Drop down box [Qty Box]
    Mystical Scents [Drop down box [Qty Box]

    I came across the product attributes grid contribution which is great but not an ideal solution as there are 6 main scent choices each with approximately 60-80 different scents, which would make for one very very large grid.

    The reason I need a quantity box for each attribute option is that most customers will want to order more then 1 scent from more then 1 scent option and it's very time consuming having to go back and forth adding them.

    I'd really appreciate some help with this, thanks for reading

    It can be set up, but not as "dependancies". You will have to create individual attribute inputs/selections for the scents and then again for the quantity required of a particular scent.

    A combination of dropdown and text inputs will be required, and by using the SORT feature, you can position these relative to each other.

    Horizontal alignment is tricky, but there are posts showing how to list the attributes in 2 columns. Careful positioning of each attribute may give you a page rendition you desire.

    Thanks for replying

    I'm slightly confused though, do you mean have a text input box so that people can enter the quantity they want? I don't think that would work as how will the amount entered be added into the cart?(or maybe I'm being thick and misunderstanding what your saying).

    Here's the cart I have at the moment and as you'll see it would make life alot easier for the customers if they could select how much of each scent they want in one go rather then having to keep going back to the product listing.

    Scents and Sparkles

    The only possible way I can see around it is by having the price of the item as £0 and then having each scent with £1, that way they could at least add 1 of each scent if they so required. Again the problem with that is most orders consist of say 6 x apple mint chocolate, 3 dragon's blood, 4 Flapjack etc which isn't possible to do in one go, they have to keep going back and adding them one at a time.

    The closest cart I've seen to what I need is this one;

    BSCphotos

    but again I'd need the drop down boxes so that the page isn't ridiculously long.

    Any ideas?

    BSCPhotos uses an OsCommerce add-on called "Add Multi-Products Checkbox".

    Interestingly, this OsC module was originally crafted way back in 2003 by Ian Wilson.

    Ian joined the zencart team when ZC forked from OsC back in late 2003.

    He's known as wilt in this forum.

    Perhaps wilt can throw some light on how this mod could be ported over to ZC.

    Thank you so much I'll have to track him down and see if he can help me, I'm sure it must just be a bit of a tweak with that particular contribution but as I said I'm a PHP newb so can't figure it out.
