missing category button

I'm new to ZenCart, so please bear with me

I'm trying to set up categories, but I don't have a "category" button. I have the product button, but not the category one.

How do I get that? I keep getting a warning message indicating that I have products in my TOP category, but there is no button to create new categories.

Did you add any products to your cart at all? If so, you may have added them to the top level without creating a category in first place. In that case you may have to delete these products to make the "new category" button appear. Then you first create your categories and add your products to these categories.
