I'm using Zen Cart 1.3.7.1 (though I hope to upgrading to the latest very soon) and I'm trying to revamp my website. I've started to notice a few things that I may have done wrong at the onset of my Zen Cart customizations several years ago...

I am trying to create product specific Meta Tags... I've read all the literature online about how to do that, but I think I have one inherent problem. Back when I set this all up, I put all the header info (including the meta tags) here: includes/templates/custom/common/html_header.php

I've since read on the forums that this is not necessarily the best place for it. But when I tried to remove that file and add my meta tags to the correct meta_tags.php file (and then going into my admin to create the product specific meta tags) the tags never reappeared in my source code after I uploaded the new files. And there didn't appear to be a place for me to add my stylesheet links, so then my site completely fell apart stylistically.

As you navigate around, you'll see the meta tags don't change at all from what I have placed in that html_header.php file.

What did I do wrong all those many years ago?
