Default I need some IP blocking advise please

The past few days I have been getting a myriad of customer logins from addresses in Brazil (which I do not service) and I would love to know if there is a way to block whole countries as opposed to having to set up a ton of ip deny rules in my htaccess file?

It seems the sooner I delete their customer info, and deny their ip addresses, they are back with a vengeance using another ip address!!

It's maddening, and I like to fix this issue as soon as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ;)

Merlin: Problem is, there are other IP's coming in as being from Brazil also, such as IP's starting with 201 and 189 also.

I've read that whole thread, and incorporated the suggested .htaccess suggestions. I am finding it also does not work. The only thing that's been working is to put deny from 200. or alternatively deny from 201. BUT...I am not so certain that ALL 200 and 201 ip addresses are exclusively from brazil. I could be losing u.s and can. customers right?

I'll try to explain what the original problem is. I have a notorious amount of bogus acct logins all coming from these brazilian ip addresses. I take off the deny from 201. or deny from 200. and they start up again. Someone/or more than one person has been trying constantly to do this to my site.

I did find a page that helps immensely in finding "whole" country ip listings in case anyone needs it in the future (wanting to block large blocks of ips from one specific country)

I have a site where only visitors from Europe, US/Canada, Australia/New Zealand can view the site.

IP bans for Central and South America, Middle East, Africa and Asia, have kept out tens of thousands of unwanted access attempts in the last year and a bit, and have allowed less than 20 accesses from those areas (mainly using IPs that were accidentally missed off the banning list).

Banned IPs get to see a three page mini-site and there's a special contact address noted too. In more than three years, only two people have used that contact address to say they couldn't see the whole site - both times because their ISP used a non-standard IP block which we had banned, which we then unblocked by request.
