Copying Sub-category

I have a category, Area Code --> with a sub-categories being the50 states. I want to copy the entire Area Code sub-category (states) to my U.S. State category. But I want to be able to change the category ID. Is this doable? So it looks like this:

Area Code
--> Alabama
--> Alaska
--> Arizona

I want to copy all the states under Area Code to U.S. State so I don't have to create basically the same sub-category under a new section.

If this is feasible, please give detailed instructios. thanks.

Hi, I am also facing a similar problem, I am making a cell phone store in which I have created a category

accessories >> Batteries
accessories >> chargers
accessories >> etc...

I want to add same sub categories into batteries & chargers and all others with in accessories like the following

Batteries>>Black Berry
...............>>Nokia
...............>>Samsung

There is an option in admin to MOVE Category but unfortunately, I am unable to find any option to make a copy of category into another category or simply duplicating a category with its contents.

Hopefully I can get some help on this forum
