can you do this with the header?

I have created a header using html and javascript, and I want to use that header in the shopping cart. Is it just a matter of "dropping" the code into common/tpl_header.php and blanking out what I don't need?

The header I want to use contains a set of tables with images and a dropdown menu. It is a .htm file so I don't know if that code would jive in a php file and thought I would ask before going ahead ( I have backed up)

okay, if I want to drop an html/java dropdown menu in the header would I upload it as a separate file somewhere, then tell the html_header.php file to show it?

can anyone help? you see dropdown category menus on the web all the time, surely we can do this with zencart?

check free addon section for CSS header menu .. its already there , sine is done using CSS ,you can customize as you desire

A quick thing you can do is to use the "Developers Tool Kit" to find the correct page and go from there.

Using an add on would probably be a better approach but if you are customizing then it is always better to find ALL the related pages as it is possible to modify one and impact others.

Also, don't forget about the template override as sometimes a change will not show as it is in the wrong directory. I was successful adding some text and a picture in the PayPal module now showing on the confirmation page when checking out. It seem s to work well.
