storefront stops after renaming admin folder

I have a problem renaming the admin folder in v1.3.8. I rename the folder and make the 3 changes in the config.php file. Everything works fine if I try to log into the admin area. However, when customers go to my site and purchase something it works fine up until the checkout page.

They click the Go to Checkout button and it gives them a white screen.

I have no idea where to look for this problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Just as a FYI. Yes I do have extra mods installed. Quite a few actually so a little bit of guidance on WHERE the problem might be, would be awesome!

This has absolutely nothing to do with renaming your admin folder.

I recommend a search of the FAQ area for blank page problems.

That's weird, because when I have my admin folder as "admin" my site works perfectly fine. No problems what so ever. Checkout is fine straight through, browsing the site is perfectly fine.

The moment I change the name of my admin folder and do the changes in the config.php file, I get the blank screen. I don't get the blank screen anywhere on my site except when I make the admin folder name change.

That's one strange problem. As kuroi siad, one has nothing to do with the other.

For clarity, the Admin does make use of code from the catalog side of the site, but the catalog side, including the checkout makes no use of code in the Admin. It doesn't even know where it is ...

... unless you have a mod in your checkout that has been badly written - that could explain your symptom, and the Debug Error Logging Utility to which stevesh has pointed you will hopefully confirm this either way.
