Default Weight showing as Zero in shipping estimator

I've searched; I've read the PDF manual and I have changed everything I can think of and STILL the product shows 0lbs in the estimator.

I am offering free shipping within the US and CA so have configured the Zone Shipping Module to have no charge for Zone 1 (US and CA) and then everything else is in Zone 2 and is charged by weight.

If the product is showing up as 0lbs then it will not calculate a shipping price. I have set the weight of the product in the product description to 1 so what am I missing here?

    Thanks.

So I need to Define Zones 1 and 2 and set up sub zones in each for the countries they refer to. Does that mean Zone 2 will have dozens of sub zones as I cannot enter All Countries as that will include the US and Canada?

    Thanks.

I am guessing that you are using Zone Rate zones shipping module ...

If that is the case, then you would set up Zone 1 to be:
    Zone 1 Countries:
    US, CA

    Zone 1 Shipping Table:
    10000:0.00

    Zone 1 Handling Fee:
    0.00

    Zone 2 Countries:
    00

    Zone 2 Shipping Table:
    3:10.00,6:15:00,etc.etc.etc.

    Zone 2 Handling Fee:
    0.00
The Zone Countries being set to 00 means every one else not previously defined ...

NOTE: Always use the 00 for the last Zone Definition ...

So it helps if you remember to turn off the Always ships free option in the product description too

Showing prices for Zone 2 and $0.00 for Zone 1 - fantastic!

    Thanks.
