missing paypal order occasionally

Hi,

I have a website install the paypal standard IPN module, and I find that there is some problem on my record.

Sometimes I get the payment from paypal but there is no order record in the website. This happen for about 20% order.

I find in the forum that there are many ppl that have IPN problem, but usually they don't have any website record indeed. But none of them has this missing order problem occasionally.

My server don't have CURL and I do not use SSL.

And here is the result from ipcheck.php

1. Click "Remove" on your PayPal Website Payments Standard module.
2. Click "Install" on your PayPal Express Checkout module, and configure it: www.zen-cart.com/getpaypal
Then your problems with the Website Payments Standard module will go away.

But PayPal Express Checkout module need the CURL function but my server does not support it.

Then you should switch to a hosting company who can provide it.

So it is normal for module 'Paypal standard IPN module', that some order would be missing? And there is no solution for this?

Yes, it's normal for the IPN module to occasionally miss storing completed orders ... because it relies on communication back from PayPal, and it's common for your server to not properly hear the communications back from PayPal, for many reasons. It's MUCH BETTER to use Express Checkout instead.
