buttons not showing for category links

Zen cart 1.3.8a, just installed the blue button pack. It says Zen will use the buttons where the template is referenced. My cart is using the buttons on the product page, but not for the category links on the left side of the homepage. Where do I configure settings for the category links?

What did you use to create/edit your define_mainpage

You've got double head, html, and body calls. The design pages are designed to accept html but NOT all the "extras" that Word, Dreamweaver, etc add to the mix.

Don't know if these fixes will help with the buttons, but, if you've done the same with all define_ pages, it wouldn't hurt to fix that first.

AND... If you are speaking of the Categories box in the left column, you will need to do some coding to make buttons in that or any box not already designed to use images.
