Corrupt downloads - .zip only v1.3.7

I am hoping someone can help with this please :-)
I have set up downloads from my site and using MP3's all is well - individual files can be purchased and download great :-)

But as I now have a whole album I have zipped the files for download. The zip shows a green dot and seems to download fine when purchased but then cannot be opened - saying it is corrupt every time.

Can anyone help with this?
I seem to remember somewhere that you had to let Zencart know what files extensions you were going to use for download, I wonder could this be it? That I may have MP3 listed but not yet .zip files? Can anyone tell me how I tell Zencart .zip files are downloadable too?

Downloads are handled with attributes - there is some useful stuff here: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=71

Make sure you FTP your MP3 to your 'download' folder first.

If you put 'setting up downloads' into the Tutorials/FAQ search you will get some other useful info re making your download folder secure etc too - best of luck, I hope this helps - I am very new myself!!

Thanks to Jaycode in another thread who cured the corrupt downloads issue by changing permissions on 'pub' to 777 - it cured mine too :-)

I am hoping someone can help as I have spent hours on the forum and not found anything to help - or any similar issues to the one I am currently experiencing with downloads.

I set up downloads last year from my site, individual mp3's, zipped folders with several mp3's in and pdf files.
All showed as 'green dot' i.e. valid in download manager and all were successfully downloaded for some time without issue.

Now though, whilst I have changed nothing it appears zip files and pdf's do not! Though individual mp3's still work perfectly :-)

Whilst all files still show 'green dot' i.e valid in download manager and they appear to download successfuly and how the correct size when downloaded, they cannot be opened and the error message says they are 'invalid' once downloaded.

Can anyone offer any suggestions to resolve this PLEASE??!!!

I also moved hosts but having contacted the hosting provider, they report the server is already running in safe mode - so that does not seem to be the issue for me.

I am on V 1.3.7 and the problem seems to be happening only with zipped files.
Where there is a single mp3 - that downloads and can be played but where there are several mp3 files zipped togther the .zip seems to download fine i.e. appears the same size as expected, but then when you try to open it the error message says the file is 'invalid' or 'corrupted' or 'not supported' - I have tried different zip software to see if that made a difference - it hasn't - just gives a slightly different error message.

Any help would be appreciated!

I also have single mp3 product and pdf's which are not affected, just anything in a .zip format.

I have spent hours trawling the forum and also posted previously but have not had or found any answers which have worked to cure this.

Probably something different between your old host and your new one. Maybe you need to turn off GZip compression in your Admin->Configuration screen.
