    Default Patching to another level

    Hi,

I know this has been asked loads but I have been through loads of threads and still not solved this. I have this at the top of my site
Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Admin->Tools->Server Information to review patch levels.

I have uploaded patches but nothing has solved the issue - here
    http://www.ampmgraphics.com/demo/

I am now guessing that the only way to solve this would be to upgrade to 1.3.9b ? (currently I have 1.3.8a)?

1 / First is there are way to solve the patch issue without doing this?

2 / Second if no to the above..I think I am right in that I need to run the zc_install? by uploading this folder (zc_install) to my public folder and go to the http://www.site/zc_install and go from there?

3 / Will this be complicated? Will this be upgrading my whole site or just the patches.

I have made so many changes to the site I am worried upgrading will mess it up. If there is anyway of solving the patch issue without upgrading I would prefer this!

Can anyone help and guide me with this? I really need help..

Thank you in advance for your time...

That is correct and when re-running it should provide a "Upgrade Database Only option" which is normally all that is required

When you upgrade, you need to upgrade two things: your site *files* and your site *database*. By the sound of it you've done one but not the other.

    Thanks everyone for your replies.

I have now updated the database and its fine now (Deleted and re-added payment module as well). I am now running this:

    Zen Cart 1.3.8a
    Patch: 1::
    Database Patch Level: 1.3.9c

Is this ok to have two different levels? I would prefer not to upgrade the files. Are there any SEO advantages to upgrading the zen cart files as well??

    Thanks

    You're playing with fire.

The database and software are intended to work together at the same version level.
If you start having problems the first thing you'll be told is to finish your upgrade properly.
