    Default Paypal processing from authorizations

With Paypal express I have it set to do authorizations first. Is there a way when I change from pending to processing for this paypal express system to process the or bill the payment when I change the status automatically? instead of logging into paypal and processing the payment..

It works the opposite direction: If you use the Capture option within your ZC admin to capture the payment, then it will automatically set the order to Processing for you.

I use authorizations as some orders are not readily available, sometimes backorder - so I set it to get an authorization not to get in trouble with Paypal. Is there a way to set authorizations to process capture of payment?

Like I said, simply use Zen Cart to do your captures instead of on the PayPal site. You can do it directly inside the individual orders.

That would be great how do I do this, inside the individual order I only have void. (admin set to authorize payment only)
Set the status of orders paid with this payment module to this value.
    Recommended: Processing[2]
but still the order is in authorize mode after I set it to processing.

I apologize if Im not undertstanding this correctly.

Changing the status to "Processing" doesn't trigger any other events.

However, if you use the "Void" or "Refund" options in the order screen, it will change the status to "Pending", and if you use the "Capture" option, it will change the status to "Processing" (based on the options in the pulldowns you've set in the module's settings). The Void/Refund/Capture options only appear if the system detects that the order is in an appropriate status for such an action.

In other words. If I have Auth only and the order is pending there is no way to capture payment by switching status. correct?

If so what do you recommend...

Thank you for your help in this.

Correct. Merely "switching status" does not trigger any other updates/ changes.
But if you use your Zen Cart admin, and go into the order itself, and use the capture option on that page, then it will both capture the funds *and* set the status to Processing for you.
As I said, it's looking at the scenario you described from the other direction.

When I go into Zen admin and the order itself I only see a "Do Void" option. Using Zen cart 1.3.8a PayPal Express Checkout (rev1.3.8a). Am I missing something?

It was originally written to have Capture and Void and Refund choices on that page.
