Default just a little more space in the footer

I've been using Firefox with a css button to make changes to my stylesheet, and am making good progress. I've got one tiny problem left on my index page, in the footer.

The footer's "Home" and "Log In" links have too little space between them. I've tried several things: adding padding to various spots on the stylesheet. Even defining a new div in tpl_footer.php. Mostly I just ended up changing the links at the top of the page instead, and then had to switch them back.

I'd love to add a "|" separator, as I have for my EZpages links. Thoughts on how to do so?

But heck, I'd take a bit of space & be okay with that. Either one.

Thanks for your time in advance.

Looks like someone has removed the Bread Crumbs Navigation Separator in the admin under Configuration >> Layout Settings.

Nope, matter of fact the breadcrumb separator is still set to put "::" between links. You can see it if you choose a category (like D artists).

I guess what's confusing me (and maybe the system) is that you have the navMainWrapper in twice.

Yep, was hoping I'd get the same space between the links that I do get at the top of the page, but no luck.

If you really meant to do that, you should give new ids to the bottom copy. You are confusing and abusing the css.

    ID - Unique on a page ( #navMainWrapper)
CLASS - Used many times on a page (.category-top)

Using an ID twice will confuse any browser and (at best) result in the second set of "directions" being ignored.

Okay, I'll work on getting new IDs for the bottom. Will go back to the original footer & start again. Thanks for the good advice.

    Or....
Change the ids in the bottom to add Bot on the end.
Be sure to add (for instance) #navMainWrapperBot to the stylesheet or you still won't be able to control it.
