    Default E-mail money transfer

Can some smarty Canadian add Interac e-mail money transfer as a payment option.

What is Interac Email Money Transfer?

Interac Email Money Transfer is a service that transfers money directly from your personal bank account to anyone who has an email address and a personal bank account at a Canadian financial institution.

Currently there are six Canadian banks offering the service, including BMO Bank of Montreal, CIBC, RBC Royal Bank, Scotiabank, TD Canada Trust and Prospera Credit Union.

    Nice concept, but won`t work.

If my store was just for Canadian buyers, this would work, one of the settings is that you must change the store to CAD, a majority of my customers will be in the USA, so I want to keep that as my currency.

E-mail money transfer is done through online banking, so it works like "Direct Deposit", if a customer chooses it, they will then have to go into their online banking website to do the transfer, therefore off my site, and at this stage, I would not need dedicated SSL, which I can't afford (reason why I offer paypal for the moment)

So the way I would see it, the American customer chooses direct deposit, they go into a screen that gives them the bank and account details, a similar idea would be needed for this,

the checkout would show them the total, then they would click on their bank icon (RBC, Scotia etc) that would take them to their online banking login, where they will choose the transfer method, set my e-mail up as recipient, select their account, and transfer etc.

If you know how direct deposit works, the concept is very similar.

One thing to consider: online payment by bank transfer seems to be very popular in Australia and parts of Europe, but it isn't done much at all here in the US. I know I've never purchased anything from a US-based website that used it, that I can recall. I think you'll find that your US customers won't be interested in that option, anyway.

If you get it working, though, let us know how many US customers use it. Maybe you can start a trend .

That's fine, because I am not setting it up for the USA, though my nickname mislead you, I am in Canada, and if you looked at the link, it is something in place at all the major Canadian banks, thus, I asked for a smarty Canadian to set this up.

The reason you have not used it is because you are not in Canada!!!

I bank at TD, and use it to pay rent, and using it for my store, there is no cost to me, and any Canadian who has a bank account can use it.

As for my U.S. Customers, I am looking at the direct deposit addon so they can deposit money into my Bank of America account, which I am sure Americans are familiar with!!

So can a Canadian who is aware of this (and if you are not, log into your online banking and check it out) look at this and come up with a solution.
