Download Folder on alternate server?

I know you can move the download folder outside of the webroot:

But is it possible to have the download folder located on an entire different domain/server?

For example:
I would like to move mine from www.abc.com/zencart/downloads to www.xyz.com/downloadfolderx.

Any reason this would not work?

change

to

define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', 'www.xyz.com/downloadfolderx/');

Actually, Louis is wrong.
It's *NOT* possible to serve downloads from an external location if you want Zen Cart to handle the security to prevent theft.
