have you modified the configure files after you copied them from your live shop, as they will need to be modified to point to your demo store, it wion't do it automatically

and do they still have the name configure.php and not dist-configure.php. as for some reason it's not seeing them and thinking it needs to be installed

I configured them such as I changed the name of the live webshop to the name of the temporary webshop

Yes its simply called configure.php. There is a dist-configure.php there now. I asked my webhost to restore after I previoulsy deleted it.

    Any suggestions?

user name is the name of the temporary zendemo shop
The password seem to be the same as the live webshop

if you have renamed your live webshop which you said was 1.3.8 and you have now renamed to a tempory webshop then, this webshop will only be 1.3.8?, apart from the database that needs upgraded, you still need version 1.3.9d files

no, no, keep the live webshop out if this ;-)
The ONLY thing I have don to my live webshop is to use the configure.php file and all other "CUSTOM" folders/files.

The temporary webshop is installed from the ground up as 139c on its own database. Has nothing to do with the live 138 webshop.

After I/my webhost installed the full clean 139c the nw 139d came out and so I installed all files that are 139d related. SO now its a 139d version.

i see, so i am assuming that this demo uses a different database, as you have mentioned

can you now get into the admin, or are you still coming up with the installation page

if you are still coming up with the installation page, have you made sure you have placed the configure.php in the correct folders ie /includes and /admin/includes and that they are have readable permissions

also get rid of the ones labelled dist-configure.php from both your includes and admin/includes then see what happens

you shouldn't have a zc_install on the server either as you have already installed

And I just logged into my admin page online.

There is NO zc_install on the remorte server.

I will try the other things you suggested and get back soon

I have now deleted both dist.configure.php in both includes/dist-configure as well as admin/dist-configure So to my knowledge there are no dist-configs left on my server.
