Re: can't get into admin

I have a similar problem, I have recently installed SSL, I very methodically went through the configure process and all was well, i could access my admin having changed the 'admin' to something else etc and I installed the various security patches.
Yesterday, for no apparent reason I could no longer access my admin recieving the error info '401 Authorization Required', the confusing element of this is that a friend who also works with Zencart could access my admin from his computer and last night, once only I managed to access my admin using the same password etc but only the once, since then nothing.
I am reluctent to start adjusting as I know it works but there must be a simple configuration to solve the problem but for the life of me i can't work out what is going on
Please help...?

PS, Thank you to all who both moderate Zencart and build it, having finally built my site and pretty well worked out what is what I and I cant wait to go live as soon as thsi fairly opdd problem is solved..

Do your secure pages work in the catalog?

If so, compare the two configure.php files on the server:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

assuming you are using a renamed /admin make sure that it is renamed in the file as well ...

Also be sure when updating the files on the site via FTP that you have lowered their permissions to 644 so that you can overwrite them if set to 444 ...
