Use model no as offline stock location

Hi,

Wonder if anyone can help ...

I have a client who wants to customise their store so that they can use the model number as the products offline stock location (the model number has been hidden from the online public side through admin)

I would like to change all the occurrences of "model no" to "stock location" within the admin but am a bit worried that the changes i will make might break the cart.

Can anyone suggest which ones it would be OK to change and which ones to leave?

Changing define values in admin is the same as in the cart (if that's what you want to do) except there are no overrides. Use the Admin - Tools - Developers Tool Kit to search admin files for 'model' and change the ones you think appropriate. As long as you change them properly (just edit the text and leave the single quotes) you won't break anything.
