File Permissions Nightmare

I recently got that red header error: "Warning: I am able to write..." and realized it was a permissions issue with configure.php. In my
Godaddy File Manager, there is Read, Write and Execute permissions for Web user AND Owner. Why does the warning remain if I enable writing for the Owner (me)?



Which boxes in this pic should be checked for a configure.php file? (or all Zen Cart files for that matter).

Which configure.php are you having difficulty with? The one I have located in .../includes is set at 0444.

When changing permissions, it needs to be done using your servers cpanel or equivilent and not ftp, as ftp wont apply some changes due to permission problems of its own.

Both 'configure.php' files only need Read permissions, that's it.

Default permissions for all others:
755 dir
644 files
