    Default SSL - all pages?

    Hello, everyone!
I just need a bit of advice. I have installed SSL Certificate on my website. Do you recon all pages should be https? In my website I secured "log in", "contact us" and of course check out will be secured. Other pages don't have to be, do they? Also, I heard crawlers don't index secure pages. Is that right?
    Cheers

I can't speak to bots, but there's no reason I know of to secure the entire site. What you've done is the standard configuration.

Today many spiders will index SSL pages. I can't speak for all spiders. I would never recommend encrypting all pages.

We did some testing a few years ago and found that encryption slowed a web page's rendering by 30% or more due to the encryption/decryption process.

The general rule is: "Don't use it unless the page displays or asks for personal information, credit card information or a password."

If you want to have your admin use SSL on *all* admin pages, simply use an https address in the HTTP_SERVER setting in your admin configure.php file.
