New Problem

I can now access my site via the admin log in and make changes, but as I am putting into place visual changes via the template folders the changes are either not happening at all ex: the sale message, as in I am changing the language file and saving it on the server and not seeing any changes or if i try and create my own template it creates a jumble that does not have any of my changes applied and the left and right columns are missing, can this be caused by another server folder restriction? and if not point me to anyone who can help

Open your Admin panel and navigate to tools -> template selection. Click the Edit button, then choose CUSTOM from the dropdown menu and click the Update button. Now, navigate to tools -> layout boxes controller and at the bottom of the page click the Reset button.
