    Default database upgrade password problem

I been trying to get this upgrade to work all day and I'm getting much closer.

The only problem I'm having right now is when I run the database upgrade in the zc_install it asks me for my username and password from the admin section.

I use the correct ones but it keeps saying they are wrong. I can enter the admin section so I know they are correct.

If I can just get this database to upgrade I will be on the home stretch.

    Anyone?

    Thanks,
    Tony

It can only proceed if there's an exact match for the username and password.
Otherwise it can't discern whether maybe you're mistakenly telling it to upgrade the wrong database, or worse maybe you're not really the real administrator of the site (how's the installer to know?).

I know that, but I'm inputing the correct username and password. I even went back and logged out of the admin section and then logged back in to see that the username and password were correct.

It's very specific about wanting the Admin username and password NOT the database username and password.

I can't figure out where the error is.

Here's a thought, it's automatically selecting to upgrade 2 times (I don't remember the versions) because there are two boxes checked. I wonder if you should only upgrade one level and then go back and upgrade another level.

You should try with other any browser. If you still can not login update your username and password to something common - for example username: "admin" and password: "admin". If you still can not fix it visit your PHPMyAdmin page - go to database entries about the admin information (something like "zen_admin") - you can check there if you have any mistakes.

OK, when you enter your username and password which button do you press? What error do you see?

OK Thanks Guys, I found it!!!

When I exported my old database and imported it into my new database it created a duplicate set of fields EXCEPT one admin field had the old username and password and the other had the new username and password.

The database update program was looking at the old one while the admin section I been logging in and out was using the new one.

I think it may be time to correct the database errors before I go on.

Thanks for suggesting to look at that bminster!!!

Yes, that can be a very serious problem, not with just *that* table, but with *all* your tables.
If you're going to import a database, you should DROP all the existing tables FIRST before importing. That's assuming you're really wanting to replace the old data. Of course, do backups before doing any dropping or importing.
