Preventing Orders From Northern Ireland

Hi,

I have a UK based site which sends perishable stock, and for this reason and the increased postage costs, cannot send to NI.

The only country as standard is United Kingdom, which does not differentiate.

Is there a way to block customers from ordering from NI?

Also, I already have a customer base (around 950 accounts). Is there any way of searching these for NI customers?

Unlike the US, the areas under United Kingdom have not been broken out.

You will need to do something similar to what Ajeh did for non-us shipping in this post.

Thanks, have reasd that and it has given me some ideas, now wondering if an easier way around it might be to install counties and make that a compulsory field, thereby not giving NI residents the option.

Still raises the question of how to locate current NI customer who can presumably still login and order with preset details...

If you set the zone in a shipping module, no one outside the "zone" will be able to use it so it matters not if someone has already registered as far as their ability to checkout.

You might need to set something else for NI if you have anything able to go there.

It costs but not much relatively speaking. Have a look at the advanced shipping module from CEON. This will allow you to accept orders based on UK postcodes and so let you block NI and even adjust shipping rates to other areas in the UK that have higher delvery costs.
