Multi Cross Sell mod [Support thread]

I have installed Multi Cross Sell and it seems to be working fine except for how it displays in IE. (see images below).
I cannot seem to figure A) what is happening or B) how to fix it.

It works in ie6 and ff12
In ie8 it breaks, but lines up ok in "compatability mode"

btw: ie6 is the only one that shows 3 across correctly
The padding appears to be wrong in the others!
It would appear to be a CSS problem but I can't quickly see what it is.
