linking products to attributes

I am trying to link an attribute to an actual product. Example I have a book for sell and different colors of dye for sell. I also have a kit that includes a book and 3 colors of dye (customer picks colors). I am trying to set it up so if the customer orders the kit with red, blue, and green dye it takes that away from the stock count on the red, blue, and green dye and takes away from the stock on the book as they are also sold as individual products.

For starters, look at the Stock by Attribute mod in Free Addons. It may take some customizing to get it to work with independent products as well as attributes of one product.

Well the Stock by Attribute addon is close but not quite what I need. I need the stock to be by the attribute it's self not the attribute as assigned to a product. Example the red dye would be an attribute that would be assinged to many kits. I would like for stock to be subtracted from red dye when a customer purchases a kit with red dye. If I have 4 bottles of red dye and a customer purchases kit A with red dye option and another Kit B with red dye option then my stock would show 2 red dye bottles left.

There is nothing closer available, so you will have to code it or hire a coder to get what you want.
