    Default Configuration Question

    Hello All,

I cannot seem to find the correct setting in the
Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings (or other) to solve a little display issue

The define_main_page.php text is showing on the main index page as expected, however , it is also showing on category pages
    that have sub-categories
    (not on categories without sub-categories)
I would like to turn off the define_main_page.php text from showing on the category w/subcategory pages ....

    Any insight would be appreciated

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but check your setting in Admin - Configuration - Product Listing - Show Subactegories ... - should be '0".

    Stevesh,

    Thanks for the reply.

The "define_main.page.php" contains the text that is to be displayed on the "catalog" main page.
It is turned on/off at Admin-> Config->Define Page Status.
The text can be added via the Admin->Tools->Define Pages Editor.

I have added the text and it displays properly at the main(top level) catalog page.

If I select a category that does not contain any sub-categories
the "Categories Description" text displays properly

Now, if I select a category that has sub-categories
the define_main_page text is displayed above the
    "Categories Description" text

Hope this is a bit more clear ....

I'm sure I am missing something simple , just can't seem to find it

    Any insight would be appreciated

    Thanks Again
    Ken

Could be a template thing. A link to the site would help.

In the meantime check this similar problem's thread, and the other threads linked therein:

    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148745

I never did understand how that extra code got in those files, but the fix seemed to work.

    Stevesh,

    Thanks for the tip --
    That solved the problem:

    #indexCategoriesMainContent is referenced in the
    /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index_categories.php

    AND

#indexCategoriesMainContent was NOT defined in stylesheet.css

    I added
    #indexCategoriesMainContent {display:none;} to stylesheet.css

    and it solved the problem

Also, I applaud your ZC forum search acumen
as I searched the forum for like topic/s sometime before posting

    Thanks Again
    Ken

Actually, I just have a good memory for questions I've been able to answer, so I just search for my user name and the relevant keywords.
