red flag Re: IE SSL Error

Do the frustrations ever end??? I know the answer is no.

I just realized how slow the site is. It was fine until last night when I updated my version of Stock By Attributes. I don't know what changed but yes, now the site is loading at snail speed. Why did I update the SBA? Because a customer was able to check out when an attribute was out of stock. So I fixed one problem, and have now encountered a new one.

Between the painfully slow loading time, and the security pop-ups I don't know which one is a priority. I think the load time wins because it affects all internet browsers.

I may be going back to the SBA forum for more researching.

Lindsay the site probably wasn't slow for you, because your browser probably had most of the images in cache, if you want to get an idea of what your site i like for customers, clear your browsers cache, as that way it has to reload everything from the server, There shouldn't be issues with image handler, but even manually resizing the images etc will make a massive difference

    Hi,
I successfully installed image handler 2. Could you check my site loading speed, as well as the security pop up issue for IE?

    Thank you,
    Lindsay

Its noticeably faster according to yslow (a plugin for firefox) 204.1K bytes with empty cache, which is way better than the 3mb it was before

Doesn't seem to, but someone else should check as well.

Is there a reason your entire store is ssl?

If I only make certain pages SSL, then the verification badge shows that it is not verified. I didn't my customers to think that any part of the site was not safe. I also ran into issues where random security pop ups would occur since it wasn't SSL. So to be honest I figured I would make it all SSL to make sure there was no doubt about the security. I did a redirect so www.setboutique.com would go to https://, and all links on the site are https:// so everything is consistent.

...I don't know if it was the right decision, but so far it has seemed ok and it hasn't slowed down the site too much...
